Round piece of vulcanized rubber or other material approved by the International Ice Hockey Federation, primarily black in color that is used to play ice hockey. The puck is 2.54 cm thick and 7.62 cm in diameter and must weigh between 156 and 170 g. It can move at speeds of more than 150 km/h. Pucks are frozen to reduce the bounce of the rubber.
